Road show in Canada before UP Global Investors Summit, investment proposals worth 16 thousand crores

The purpose of this roadshow is to create publicity and increase investment in the state to attract investment. In this sequence, roadshows were held in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver cities of Canada from 8 to 15 December.

New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh government will organize the UP Global Investors Summit (Investors' Conference) from 10 to 12 February 2023 in Lucknow. Before this conference, a series of roadshows are being organized in 16 countries of the world. The purpose of this roadshow is to create publicity and increase investment in the state to attract investment. In this sequence, roadshows were held in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver cities of Canada from 8 to 15 December. During this, investment proposals worth about 16 thousand crores were received. 8 different delegations have been formed for organizing the roadshow. This delegation is engaged in contact and dialogue with various investors and industrialists.


Roadshow in Canada from 8th December to 15th December

A team led by Speaker of UP Legislative Assembly Satish Mahana, Pushpalan and Dairy Minister Dharampal Singh held roadshows in the Canadian cities of Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver from December 8 to 15. The UP delegation included State Chief Secretary - Durga Shankar Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary, Energy - Mahesh Gupta, Secretary Planning - Alok Kumar and Secretary Industrial Development cum Chief Executive Officer 'Invest UP' - Abhishek Prakash.


The roadshow in Canada began with a dinner hosted by Apoorva Srivastava, Consul General of India in Toronto. The dinner was attended by eminent businessmen and industrialists of Toronto. During this, discussions were held with senior officials of the Ontario Teachers' Pension Scheme to take advantage of funding options for infrastructure development in the state.


The Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce and the Canada India Foundation organised a session in Toronto to showcase and promote the investment opportunities available in UP. Both organizations also signed an MoU with Invest UP and invest in the region in Canada. agreed to act as the brand ambassador of


4 MoUs Signed in Toronto

In Toronto, the delegation held a meeting with more than 10 investors and invited them to invest in UP. The result was that 4 MoUs were signed. Suresh Madan, CEO of My Health Center, announced an investment of 2050 crores for the development of a multi-specialty hospital in Kanpur.


Satish Mahana and Dharampal Singh met with Minister of Colleges and Universities Jill Dunlap and Assistant Deputy Minister for Food and Rural Affairs Randy Jakiw in Toronto to develop strategic links and cooperation with Canada.


In Montreal, the delegation had more than 10 meetings with CEOs of 10 major companies. Two MoUs were signed here. Abhishek Prakash, CEO of Invest UP, signed an NoU with Canada-India Global Forum and Indo-Canada Ottawa Business Chamber. The last city of this roadshow was Vancouver. Here the delegation had a meeting with 13 companies. 6 MoUs were signed here. During the Canada Roadshow, 'Invest UP' received investment proposals of more than 16 thousand crores in total.
