NCB Raids: NCB action in Maharashtra, drugs worth one crore seized from Navi Mumbai

The NCB team got information about a big consignment of drugs, on the basis of which it raided Navi Mumbai. Even 2 days ago, NCB had busted the drugs syndicate from Thane.

New Delhi: Mumbai and Chennai NCB seized a huge consignment of drugs in a joint operation in Navi Mumbai. This raid was done in the Ulwe area of Navi Mumbai. The drugs found during the raid are said to be worth more than Rs 1 crore in the international market. Earlier on December 14, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) busted an interstate drug smuggling syndicate supplying drugs in Dharavi, Mumbai.


NCB had conducted a campaign for four days before busting the drug smuggling syndicate, after which five people were also arrested. During this, a total of 1407 CBCS bottles (140 kg) and 6000 Nitrazepam tablets (3.6 kg) were illegally diverted from Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai, about which NCB had received information. The NCB had received information from internal sources that a Mumbai-based syndicate was actively involved in inter-state smuggling of illegally diverted pharmaceutical drugs.


NCB active on drugs

NCB remains active in Mumbai. She keeps raiding for drugs at different places in Mumbai and keeps recovering drug consignments. In August this year also, Mumbai NCB got hold of MD drugs worth about 1400 crores from Palghar. About 5 people were also arrested in this case. The narcotic drugs that the police got hold of were 700 kg.
