Manish Sisodia is unable to get bail

During the hearing, the counsel appearing for ED opposed Sisodia's bail. The ED told the court that Manish Sisodia played an important role in revising and implementing the excise policy.

New Delhi: Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has not been able to get bail ever since he went to jail. The court has rejected his bail plea several times. Even today, the hearing on the bail plea filed by Manish Sisodia could not be completed in the Rouse Avenue Court and the court fixed the next date. Now the court will hear this bail plea on April 18.

ED opposes Hiya's bail

Earlier, during the hearing, the counsel appearing for ED opposed the bail granted to Sisodia. The ED told the court that Manish Sisodia played an important role in revising and implementing the excise policy.

Right now the investigation is going on in this matter. That's why they should not be given bail. However, all the allegations have been termed baseless by Manish Sisodia. Manish Sisodia has been arrested first by the CBI and later by the ED in the Delhi liquor scam. He is currently lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail.

Sisodia was arrested on 26 February

Significantly, the CBI arrested Sisodia on February 26 after several rounds of questioning in connection with alleged corruption in the now-cancelled Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22.

After the CBI arrested the AAP leader on February 26, the ED also arrested him on March 9 in the same case. The probe agency had informed the court that a huge amount of data from the email and mobile of the former deputy chief minister was also being forensically analysed.
