Kapil Sibal is the only advocate in the case filed by the wrestlers in the Supreme Court. He has attacked PM Modi and BJP for not arresting Brijbhushan Sharan Singh till now.
New Delhi: Kapil Sibal has launched a scathing attack on Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, former President of the Wrestling Federation of India and MP. Kapil Sibal said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party are silent on the sexual harassment allegations levelled by wrestlers against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, sending a clear message to those probing the matter. Sibal is representing the protesting wrestlers in the Supreme Court.
Kapil Sibal attacked by tweeting
In a tweet, Kapil Sibal said, "Despite mounting evidence, public outcry, Brij Bhushan Singh still not arrested. PM silent, Home Minister silent, BJP silent, RSS silent. Message to investigators is clear." Taking a jibe at the government's slogan of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sibal said, not Sabka Saath, Brij Bhushan ka Saath.
Both the FIRs registered on the basis of complaints of six women wrestlers and the father of a minor, Brij Bhushan has been sexually assaulted, inappropriately touched, forcibly touching, at different times and places over a period of more than a decade. There are several alleged cases of stalking and intimidation mentioned.
There was also tension on the statement of the person hanging himself
Earlier, on the statement of Brij Bhushan Sharan hanging himself after being proved guilty, Sibal had said that it seems somewhat familiar. He said that after demonetisation in the year 2016, PM had said that just wait for 50 days, if problems arise even after 50 days, then I am ready for any punishment. So when nothing happened even after 50 days, then nothing will happen again.
