Delhi Mayor election will be held on January 24

The agenda of the MCD meeting has also come to the fore. The first number of elected councillors will be administered the oath in the mayor election. And after that the oath will be administered to the Alderman, and then the Mayor will be elected on the second number.

New Delhi: The election of the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and six members of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi will be held on January 24. First, the elected councilors will take an oath. On January 6, during the first oath-taking of the Alderman members, there were a lot of ruckuses between the councillors of the Aam Aadmi Party and BJP and there was a fight.

Significantly, the election of the MCD Mayor, Deputy Mayor Standing Committee was held on January 6 at the Civic Center. But as soon as BJP's Satya Sharma, the presiding officer announced by the Lt Governor, took an oath, slogans started from Aam Aadmi Party workers and then slogans started from BJP councillors as well and within no time this sloganeering turned into a ruckus and fighting.


Security will be tighter this time

The deputy mayor will be elected on the third number and after that, the 6 members of the standing committee will be elected. Last time there was uproar and controversy in the MCD House over the first oath being administered to the Alderman. In view of the uproar and controversy in the MCD House last time, this time the number of marshals and security officers will be more in the MCD House.
