New Delhi: Delhi AIIMS Server Attack: An FIR was registered on the cyber attack in Delhi's AIIMS Hospital. It was said that this cyber attack was done by China. Out of 100 servers of the hospital, 40 were physically hacked and 60 were hacked virtually. The data of five of these servers has been successfully recovered from hackers. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) gave this information on Wednesday (December 14).
On November 25, a case of extortion and cyber terrorism was registered by the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of the Delhi Police. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is now probing the Target ransomware attack. Along with the NIA, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and Delhi Cyber Crime Cell, Indian Cyber Crime Coordination, Intelligence Bureau, and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are also probing the cyber attack.
Cyber attack on AIIMS
AIIMS Delhi first reported a glitch in its server on 23 November. Two analysts posted to maintain the server have also been suspended for an alleged cyber security breach. AIIMS officials said in a statement that the e-hospital data has been restored. The network is being cleaned up before services are restored. The process is taking some time due to the volume of data and a large number of servers/computers for the hospital services. Measures are being taken for cyber security.
CFSL help taken
Earlier this month, the Special Cell of the Delhi Police started a probe into the attack on the computer system at AIIMS Delhi. According to official sources, a team from the Central Forensic Lab (CFSL) has been pressed into service to probe the servers of AIIMS Delhi to identify the source of the malware attack.
