BJP's Delhi State President Adesh Gupta claimed that in the year 2022, the maximum number of cases of stubble burning have been reported. These cases have been increasing since October 14.
New Delhi: The BJP has written a letter to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal, demanding a ban on stubble burning in Punjab, over Delhi's pollution and continuous poisoning of the air. BJP's Delhi state president Adesh Gupta wrote a letter to Kejriwal reminding him that before the formation of his government in Punjab, Kejriwal considered the burning of stubble in Punjab as the main cause of pollution in Delhi, but today despite his government in Punjab, burning stubble. Cases have doubled and Kejriwal is sitting on his hands.
Kejriwal government not taking any concrete measures regarding pollution
Adesh Gupta accused the Kejriwal government of not taking any concrete measures regarding pollution even after the court's strong rebuke, saying that when the Aam Aadmi Party government was not there in Punjab, Kejriwal repeatedly complained of air pollution in Delhi. The blame used to be on the Punjab government, but now that Punjab is under the Aam Aadmi Party government, Kejriwal is now busy with political tourism instead of seriously considering Delhi's pollution.
'Most cases of stubble burning were reported in 2022'
Citing statistics, Gupta claimed that the highest number of cases of stubble burning were reported in the year 2022. These cases have been increasing since October 14. 82 cases have been reported on 14 October, 169 on 15 October, 206 on 16 October and 403 on 17 October.
He further claimed that in 2022, 4665 such cases have been reported so far. Whereas this figure was only 1946 last year. The BJP state president has urged Kejriwal to immediately stop the burning of stubble in Punjab to reduce Delhi's pollution so that the people of Delhi can breathe in a clean environment.
