Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP President JP Nadda held a meeting with Gujarat leaders to consider the candidates for the assembly elections.
New Delhi: The stir about the Gujarat elections is increasing. On Tuesday (November 8), a meeting of the BJP's core group regarding the Gujarat elections was held at the residence of Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi.
According to sources, BJP can cut tickets of many sitting MLAs in Gujarat like Himachal Pradesh. After the meeting at Amit Shah's residence, all the leaders reached the residence of party president JP Nadda. Here Amit Shah, JP Nadda held a meeting with the party leaders of Gujarat to consider the candidates for the assembly elections.
Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Purushottam Ropala, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, Gujarat BJP President CR Patil and Organization General Secretary BL Santosh were present at this meeting. Gujarat Organization General Secretary Ratnakar was also present in the meeting. This meeting lasted for about 3 hours. According to sources, BJP can cut the tickets of 20 to 25 per cent of the MLAs in Gujarat. Tickets of many senior MLAs will also be cut. Earlier on Monday, a marathon meeting was held at Amit Shah's residence in which Gujarat BJP leaders participated.
Who can get tickets?
According to sources, Hardik Patel, Alpesh, and Rivaba Jadeja, the wife of cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, may get tickets from BJP. Apart from this, CM Bhupendra Patel, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi, Health Minister Hrishikesh Patel, Kuber Dindor, Jitu Chaudhary, Dilip Thakor, Jayesh Radadia, Ishwar Patel, Sangeeta Patil, Shankar Chaudhary, Naresh Patel, Jagdish Panchal can get tickets.
Congress has got a setback
BJP has been in power in Gujarat for more than two and a half decades. This time along with Congress, BJP is also facing challenges from AAP. However, in the meantime, on Tuesday, the BJP has also given a big blow to Congress. Ten-time Congress MLA Mohan Singh Rathwa has resigned from the Congress and joined the BJP. Let us tell you that in Gujarat, polling is to be held in two phases on December 1 and 5. The results will be declared on December 8.
