8-time MLA Satish Mahana will be the Speaker of the UP Assembly, Akhilesh Yadav also supported

Satish Mahana is an MLA for 8 times. He has been an MLA from Kanpur Cantt 5 times and was the Minister of Industrial Development in the first term of the Yogi Adityanath government. Mahana filed his nomination papers for the post of President in the presence of CM Yogi and Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak.

Lucknow: Senior BJP MLA Satish Mahana is going to become the Speaker of the 18th Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Mahana filed her nomination papers for the post of Speaker on Monday and no opposition party filed nominations against her. The last date for filing nominations was Monday at 2 pm.


Akhilesh extends support to Satish Mahana

Mahana filed the nomination papers in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak. Jansatta Dal's Raja Bhaiya was also among the proposers of the nomination. His election will be announced on Tuesday. Leader of Opposition Akhilesh Yadav has also supported Satish Mahana for the election of the Speaker of the Assembly.


He was the industrial development minister in the first term of the Yogi Adityanath government. Satish Mahana, who has won his eighth election to the state assembly this year, represents the Maharajpur assembly constituency in Kanpur.


Satish Mahana is MLA for 8 consecutive times

During the swearing-in ceremony of UP Government 2.0, the name of Satish Mahana was not on the list of ministers, since then there were speculations that he would be made the Speaker of the Assembly. After this he got his nomination done by BJP. Satish Mahana is an MLA for 8 times. He has been MLA from Kanpur Cantt 5 times. He is a continuous MLA from the Maharajpur Assembly seat of Kanpur since 2012.


A popular leader, Mahana has always stayed away from controversies and has been accepted by every political class.
